Ace cinematographer Santosh SivanÂs project Ceylon is believed to have been shelved.
Santosh Sivan, the internationally acclaimed south Indian film maker earlier announced that he will make a film ÂCeylon based on the situation in Sri Lanka. The movie was to be based on the countryÂs internal conflict and the plight of Tamils displaced by war. He had also said that he will start the film by November after completing Mani RatnamÂs ÂRaavan as a cinematographer.
Now sources say that the director has almost dumped the plan. ÂRavana is stretching beyond timelines and also Santosh has been receiving a lot of offers for acting from Mollywood. And so he had to abandon the project according to reliable sources.
Santosh Sivan is already playing the lead role in the Malayalam film ÂMakaramanju which depicts the period when Raja Ravi Varma painted Urvashi-Pururavasu. RadhaÂs daughter and the ÂKo heroine Karthika is playing the female lead to Santosh Sivan.
